Welcome to the Iota Zeta Omega chapter website!
For over 90 years, the Des Moines graduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®️ has remained committed to serving all mankind. Our legacy of community impact includes initiatives such as the Martin Luther King, Jr. Expungement Clinic, Festival of Trees & Lights, Creative Visions, the LadyLike PowHer Summit, I'll Make Me a World, environmental enhancement activities, voter education registration, and mobilization efforts.
Since 1978, the Iota Zeta Omega chapter has presented our signature program: The Scholarship Cotillion an annual celebration dedicated to supporting African American high school seniors as they prepare for their post-secondary education. In partnership with the Iowa Ivy Foundation, an nonprofit organization, this program offers college-readiness workshops, scholarship opportunities, and community service initiatives. To date, we have awarded more than $45,000 in scholarships to Cotillion participants.
Yours in Service,
